HSS-CO Counterbore Cutter Straight Shank CB JM is a high-speed steel (HSS) form milling cutter, made in Japan. Specifications range from screw sizes JM3~JM12, pilot diameter 3.2~13mm, flute length 7~20mm, effective length 3~12mm, overall length 47~93mm, 4 flutes. Maximum workpiece hardness up to HRC35. Suitable for: P (structural/carbon/alloy steel, <HRC30); M (stainless steel SUS304/316/420, high toughness); N (non-ferrous, aluminum, copper, brass, plastic). Main application: counterboring (recessing screw heads flush). In the same EIKO family: CB (metric M and Whitworth W screws, HSS); CB JM covers JIS sizes JM3~JM12 in HSS-CO and is also rated for stainless steel. How do I choose between JM and M? JM is the JIS screw size marking used in the catalog; choose this series when the drawing says JM, and CB when it says M or W. Can it cut stainless steel? Yes, it is rated for stainless steel.
