Product Description
The NT-L-SKS-M is a straight flute tap made of alloy tool steel (SKS) — long shank allows continuous nut tapping, finished nuts exit via the shank. It comes in 21 sizes (thread dia 3~16, pitch 0.5~2). Supplied uncoated (bright finish). It handles carbon and alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals such as aluminium and copper, with workpiece hardness up to HRC30. Typical applications: high-volume tapping of nuts, sleeves and other internally threaded parts; finished nuts pass off over the shank, so the tap need not be reversed out for each piece. In the same H.T.D family: the short NT-S-SKS-M (27 sizes, thread dia 2.6~18), the Whitworth NT-L-SKS-W and the hand tap HT-SKS-M; NT-L-SKS-M covers thread dia 3~16 in 21 sizes. Long or short version? Their size ranges differ: this series has coarse pitches such as M8x1.25 and M10x1.5, while the short version adds M2.6, M18 and several fine pitches, so choose by the size you need.
