It comes in 27 sizes (thread dia 2.6~18, pitch 0.45~2.5). Supplied uncoated (bright finish). It handles carbon and alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals such as aluminium and copper, with workpiece hardness up to HRC30. Typical applications: high-volume tapping of nuts, sleeves and other internally threaded parts; finished nuts pass off over the shank, so the tap need not be reversed out for each piece. In the same H.T.D family: the long NT-L-SKS-M (21 sizes, thread dia 3~16), the Whitworth NT-S-SKS-W and the hand tap HT-SKS-M; NT-S-SKS-M covers thread dia 2.6~18 in 27 sizes, with more fine pitches. Long or short version? Their size ranges differ: this series has M2.6, M18 and fine pitches such as M8x1 and M10x1, while coarse pitches such as M8x1.25 and M10x1.5 are in the long NT-L-SKS-M; choose by the size you need.
