DHF Solid Carbide Micro Grain Long Shank Ball Nose End Mill DHB, commonly called a ball nose cutter, forms and finishes 3D surfaces and radiused floors. Sister series include BTA (rated to HRC55), BTH (rated to HRC55), UHBT (rated to HRC65). What sets this one apart is an ultra-fine PMG0.6 substrate with a T1 coating, rated to HRC50. It covers ball radius R 1~4mm, flute length 4~16mm, overall length 75mm, 2 flutes, in 7 sizes, made in Taiwan. It machines carbon and alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper and other non-ferrous metals. What is the smallest ball radius? R1mm. Can it cut hardened steel? Not recommended; choose a high-hardness series instead. Why the long shank? Only when the holder would foul a deep workpiece — otherwise a standard shank is stiffer. Typical uses: deep-cavity 3D cavity finishing, radiused floors and corner clean-up, electrode and fixture contouring.
