Product description
DHF Solid Carbide Ball Nose End Mill Long Shank BTA, commonly called a ball nose cutter, forms and finishes 3D surfaces and radiused floors. Sister series include BTH (G10 coating), DHB (rated to HRC50), UHBT (rated to HRC65). What sets this one apart is an ultra-fine MG0.6 substrate with a T1 coating, rated to HRC55. It covers ball radius R 1~8mm, flute length 4~32mm, overall length 75~150mm, 2 flutes, in 19 sizes, made in Taiwan. It machines carbon and alloy steel, cast iron. What is the smallest ball radius? R1mm. Can it cut hardened steel? Not recommended; choose a high-hardness series instead. Why the long shank? Only when the holder would foul a deep workpiece — otherwise a standard shank is stiffer. Typical uses: deep-cavity 3D cavity finishing, radiused floors and corner clean-up, electrode and fixture contouring.
