DHF Solid Carbide Super Micro Grain Long Shank Ball Nose End Mill UHBT, commonly called a ball nose cutter, forms and finishes 3D surfaces and radiused floors. Sister series include BTA (rated to HRC55), BTH (rated to HRC55), DHB (rated to HRC50). What sets this one apart is a sub-micron SMG0.2 substrate with a G15 coating, rated to HRC65. It covers ball radius R 1.5~4mm, flute length 6~16mm, overall length 75mm, 2 flutes, in 5 sizes, made in Taiwan. It machines hardened and high-hardness mould steel. What is the smallest ball radius? R1.5mm. Can it cut hardened steel? Yes — that is exactly what it is for. Why the long shank? Only when the holder would foul a deep workpiece — otherwise a standard shank is stiffer. Typical uses: deep-cavity 3D cavity finishing, radiused floors and corner clean-up, electrode and fixture contouring.
