AYSNAGSSHSS-CO G Short Flute Drill 6568P GSSSold0pcsNACHI 6568P GSS is the stub-length TiN coated cobalt straight shank drill. The short flute is the stiffest and deflects least, which is what holds hole position; move to 520P GSD or 6550P GLSD when depth runs out. It is made from cobalt high speed steel (HSS-CO) with NACHI's G coating, a TiN-based general-purpose layer with excellent adhesion to HSS. Sizes cover diameter 1~20mm, flute length 8~94mm, overall length 33~168mm, 135 in total, made in Japan. When is a stub drill right? Thin plate, shallow holes, tight positional tolerance, or an uneven surface where a longer drill would walk. It suits carbon and alloy steel, stainless steel with workpiece hardness up to HRC40. Typical uses: drilling sheet metal, holes needing tight position control, and starting without a spot drill.
