At high spot counts, yes - the tip is slender and wears fast, and the coating noticeably extends the change interval. Typical uses: production spotting, continuous location drilling, and lines where tool changes are awkward. The family also includes the uncoated CD60 (also 60 degrees, diameter 0.3~12mm), the 90 degree CD90 (diameter 0.3~10mm) and the long-shank CDLS60 (overall length 100~250mm); the TiN version is made in 60 degrees only up to 6mm diameter - above that use CD60.
