It is made from plain high speed steel with a DLC diamond-like carbon coating that resists build-up and clears chips freely. Sizes cover diameter 1~13mm, flute length 12~101mm, overall length 50~158mm, shank diameter 3~12mm, 121 in total, made in Japan. Will chips pack in the flute? The DLC is there to stop built-up edge and sticking, working with a wide flute to clear aluminium swarf. It suits copper, aluminium and other non-ferrous metals with workpiece hardness up to HRC30. Typical uses: drilling aluminium, copper and brass, plus plastics and composites. There is no second aluminium/copper drill in this family - for steel use 520P GSD (TiN coated, diameter 0.5~13mm) or the cobalt 6520 COSD (rated to HRC40), and for stainless 6594P AGSUSR.
