End-mill-shank drills use the same cylindrical shank sizes as end mills (e.g. φ6, φ8, φ10, φ12), held directly in ER collet, hydraulic or side-lock holders—offering higher rigidity and concentricity than a standard drill chuck, ideal for machining centers and drill-mill work. Standardized shanks share existing holders, cutting change and setup time. Mostly carbide with coatings, some with internal coolant. Select by hole diameter, shank size and holder interface; good for rigid, position-accurate drilling.
