The CDI is a chamfering cutter, made of high-speed steel. chamfers and deburrs hole edges to improve safety in downstream assembly. Available in 21 spec variant(s) (diameter 4~60, overall length 50~200, 6 shank diameters (e.g. 10)), sold per piece. Suitable for carbon and alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals such as aluminium and copper. Workpiece hardness up to HRC35. In the same H.T.D family: CDII (for hard metals, single flute, easy to regrind) and the three-flute CD-HARD (CD III); CDI is for soft metals, diameter 4~60, 21 sizes, the widest range of the three. Which one for aluminium and copper? CDI; the catalog specifies it for ductile soft metals such as aluminium and copper alloys. Which chamfer angles are available? 60°, 90° and 120°.
