Bull-nose (corner-radius) end mills have a rounded corner (R) between square and ball types, combining a flat bottom with a reinforced tip. The radius spreads tip stress and resists chipping—ideal for roughing, semi-finishing, bulk removal and R-bottom features, common in mold roughing, 3D roughing and high-feed machining. Carbide, with various corner radii (R0.5, R1, R2…) and coatings by material. More efficient than a ball nose on flats, more durable than a square end mill.
